Ferrari’s more purist enthusiasts will say that turning a Maranello model is a real blow to the tradition started by Enzo Ferrari, but there are those who do not think so and look at the market options to radicalize their super sports. It is with these in mind that Wheelsandmore has just presented its program for the Portofino, the Ferrari that was recently announced to replace the California T. Except for the wheels – that is the great specialty of that company – and the new exhaust system, this Portofino remains true to its original form, but the story changes of figure when speaking of the mechanics.

Not satisfied with the sound and power of the original 3.9-liter V8 engine from the Ferrari Portofino, which produces 600 horsepower and 760 Nm of maximum torque, Wheelsandmore has installed a new Engine Control Unit (ECU) and a new system (with two remotely controlled valves) that left the Portofino with 680 hp and 870 Nm. The German trainer has not revealed the impact that these 80 hp and 110 Nm extra have on the performance of that Italian super sports car, but it is expected that the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is slightly less than 3.5 seconds and that the maximum speed exceeds 320 km /H. In addition to the mechanical modifications, Wheelsandmore proposes a variety of exclusive wheels that completely transform the exterior look of this Ferrari. As standard, the preparer talks about a set of 21-inch wheels, but whoever wants an even more radical proposal can opt for 22-inch wheels on the rear axle. To get an idea of the prices of this program in Germany, the new ECU can be assembled for 3,360 euros, while the stainless steel exhaust system costs 3,756 euros. The cheapest wheels start at 7.555 euros each, but can reach up to 11,101 euros if the option is the model FIWE or Fork.

2018 – FERRARI SP38

The new Ferrari SP38 is the latest creation prepared by the staff of the customization program of the Special Projects division of Ferrari. The Maranello brand division in charge of creating unique vehicles based on some of the brand’s current models. According to the manufacturer himself, the new SP38 was created for a very dear customer of the company for its enthusiasm with the brand. The presentation of the new Ferrari SP38 took place at the Ferrari facility in Maranello, near the home of Enzo Ferrari, attached to the Fiorano circuit. For its creation was taken as a starting point the Ferrari F488 GTB, both its chassis and its mechanical part. For the time being the brand did not reveal images of the interior, but Ferrari confirmed that the whole interior was specially made by hand and has really special finishes. Ferrari for the time being also did not give details about the mechanical part, but in case of not having made any kind of modification, we can have an idea of the numbers that will produce the engine that is under the skin of the Ferrari SP38. It will use a 3.9-liter supercharged V8 engine with 670 hp and 760 Nm of maximum torque, exclusively associated with a seven-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. In terms of aesthetics we can see influences of some models of the brand, such as the recent Ferrari J50, a limited edition revealed in 2017 that was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Italian brand in Japan with memories of the berlinettas of the 70s and 80s, like the black plastic frame that finishes the nose, in the style of the Ferrari F308 GTB. The first time the public will be able to see the new Ferrari SP38 will be during the Villa d’Este 2018 Concorsod’Eleganza, which will take place this coming weekend, between 25 and 27 May, on the shores of Lake Como, on Italy.

While the world’s leading automakers are taking advantage of the 2018 Los Angeles Show to showcase their latest news, the Italian brand has unveiled its latest one-off, the Ferrari SP3JC in Maranello. The SP3JC is a unique roadster because there is only this one in the world and no other will be manufactured. A car that adds to a long list of ‘one-offs’ made by Ferrari, where we find equally spectacular models, such as the recent Ferrari SP38 , the Ferrari SP275 RW Competizione and the Ferrari F458 MM Speciale . Unlike what we might think in principle, the new Ferrari SP3JC is not based on the Ferrari F812 Superfast . Because in reality, to create this automobile, the engineers of the brand used as base the Ferrari F12tdf by request of the buyer. Remember, this is the limited edition of 799 units launched by the company just before retiring the F12 Berlinetta. It preserves some signs of identity, such as the long bonnet and the delayed driving position. But it also presents many new features, such as the absence of a roof and the presence of new bulges behind the banks. Not to mention the change of profile by the fact of becoming a roadster, the point that presents more news is the rear. There are four circular lanterns and a prominent diffuser with four exhaust ports integrated at their ends. And like the F12tdf, the new SP3JC uses a naturally aspirated V12 engine with 6.3 liters. A block that develops 780 hp at 8,500 rpm and 705 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. A large engine that is visible through the transparent cover on the hood. Performance was not announced, but the coupe on which it is based reaches 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed is above 340 km / h.

Not only is the Paris Salon 2016 presenting many new features, but it is also serving for other celebrations. This is the case of Ferrari, because in 2017 the brand celebrates its 70th anniversary and did not want to let the date go blank. So he decided to make five special editions with some of his current models. These have received an exclusive decoration reminiscent of some landmarks in the Italian brand. The Ferrari F488 GTB ‘The Schumacher’, the Ferraris F488 Spider ‘The Green Jewel’ and ‘Taylor Made’, the Ferrari California T ‘The Steve McQueen’ and the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta ‘The Stirling’. Each unit will produce 70 units, in total there will be 350 units if we add all the editions. In 2017 they will be turning around more than 60 countries to celebrate the anniversary. The Ferrari F488 GTB ‘The Schumacher’ pays homage to the career of legendary German driver Michael Schumacher. It takes as a reference the single-seater F2003-GA, with which it won the World-wide of Formula 1 and of constructors for the Ferrari in the year of 2003. It stands out for its red color with white details in the low parts, besides bands in the ceiling.

The Ferrari F488 Spider ‘Tailor Made’ comes out dressed up. Its decoration was based on the Ferrari F375 MM of 1953, with the body signed by Pininfarina. It was painted with three ‘Bianco Italia’ color covers and shows two longitudinal lists throughout the vehicle. The second unit of the convertible is the Ferrari F488 Spider ‘The Green Jewel’. Its name is due to the green color of its body. It is the same green used in the Ferrari F365 P2 of the team David Piper Racing, which competed in the 60’s. It won in the 9 hours of Kyalami two consecutive times in the years 1965 and 1966. The Ferrari California T ‘The Steve McQueen’ takes as reference the Ferrari F250 GT Berlinetta Lusso of 1963 that was presented to the mythical actor Steve McQueen by his wife. Its body is painted in brown color and as curiosity, its interior is upholstered with camel leather. The latest example is the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta ‘The Stirling’. It pays homage to the legendary Stirling Moss and precisely to the Ferrari F250 GT Berlinetta SWB with which the Briton won the Tourist Trophy in 1961. The body is painted in the color ‘Blu Scuro’ and receives decorations of race in white.

Among the most iconic cars Ferrari has ever built is the Ferrari F250 GTO, the legendary racing model currently sold for astronomical values. The car was derived from other versions such as the Ferrari F250 GT SWB and the Ferrari F250 GT Tour de France. The brand of Maranello knows that it is one of his greatest creations and decided to pay homage to the icon. This is the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Special Edition GT Berlinetta SWB. This one-off builds on the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and adopts one of the most iconic decorations of the Ferrari F250 GT Berlinetta SWB. Of course, it’s not the Rosso Corsa, but this ivory decoration traversed longitudinally by a dark brown competition that made the F250 GT Berlinetta SWB into an iconic Gran Turismo from the 1960s. Meanwhile, the interior seems to share the same leather brown color with red inserts of the original model. Ferrari has provided no further details, except for the image below, but it is certainly a one-off commissioned by some wealthy customer who wants a unique pedigree vehicle from Ferrari. There are several examples of this type, such as the Ferrari F250 Berlinetta Tour de France 1964 that paid homage to the official car and the race won by Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger that same year and which can also be seen below.

Liberty Walk presented its program for the Ferrari F488 GTB. The Japanese trainer became famous and always stood out for his extreme preparations in sports from around the world. Its fame is deserved by the body kits that equip the various models, leaving them simply brutal. And the result obtained with the F488 GTB, as expected, did not disappoint its admirers. The Ferrari F488 GTB by Liberty Walk was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, and how could it be otherwise, there are plenty of large wheel arches, an identity badge in the company’s body kits. In the same way, stands out the rear aerofólio, an accessory that integrates perfectly in the wide body of the Italian sports prepared. The Liberty Walk staff painted the gray body and decorated it with a black strip. This sticker combines with the wheels and mirrors, accessories that appear in the same dark tonality. In addition, the painted black ceiling also serves as a contrast. Another signature that can not miss in a car prepared by Liberty Walk is the lowered suspension. Thanks to this solution the sports car is very close to the ground. This preparation joins the others already presented in several models as protagonists, such as the Lamborghini Aventador, Lamborghini Huracán and McLaren 650S, among others.
